As the host presenter for CBS’ coverage of the Masters Tournament – now spanning five decades – Jim Nantz has narrated some of the most unforgettable moments in golf history.

From Jack Nicklaus’ epic 1986 victory when he declared “the Bear has come out of hibernation” to Tiger Woods’ historic 1997 and his timeless call, “A win for the ages!”, Nantz’s calm yet captivating delivery has made him the trusted voice behind the sport’s most prestigious events. In 1986, Nantz popularized the Masters’ famous slogan, “A tradition unlike any other”, which has since become synonymous with this revered tournament and is trademarked by the Augusta National Golf Club.

In 2025, Jim Nantz marks his 40th consecutive year covering the Masters, a testament to his enduring presence in golf commentary.

His distinctive storytelling and ability to capture the drama and emotion of the game have made him an integral part of the Masters tradition.
