Shaping a historic ascent

Raised in South Florida, Luke Clanton quickly distinguished himself on the golf course with a blend of composure and competitive grit. At Florida State University, he rose to the summit of the amateur ranks in 2024, a season that marked a turning point in his career.

He claimed three major collegiate amateur titles that year and made headlines with back-to-back top-10 results on the PGA TOUR® – finishing runner-up at the John Deere Classic and tying for 10th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic – a feat unmatched by an amateur since 1958.

In addition to these historic results, Clanton achieved two more top-10 finishes on the PGA TOUR® and broke into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking™, a rare accomplishment for an amateur golfer.

In 2024, he received the Mark H. McCormack Medal, awarded annually to the leading men’s and women’s players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking®.

In early 2025, Clanton secured eligibility for PGA TOUR® membership via the PGA TOUR® University Accelerated programme, designed to help elite collegiate players transition to the professional ranks. Demonstrating maturity and long-term vision, he opted to retain his amateur status until after the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Golf Championship, and turned professional in June.

Luke Clanton became a Rolex Testimonee in 2025.
