Immediate impact
Born in Belgium, Thomas Detry began showcasing his golf potential at an early age.
While studying Business Management at the University of Illinois, he further honed his skills on the course. Detry turned professional in June 2016 and made an immediate impact by winning the Bridgestone Challenge on the European Challenge Tour, setting records for the lowest score to par in the tour’s history (29 under par) and the largest winning margin (12 strokes). Detry’s consistent performances have enabled him to compete in major tournaments – his best finish to date was tying for fourth at the 2024 PGA Championship – but the Belgian’s breakthrough moment came in February 2025 when he claimed his first PGA TOUR® victory with a seven-shot triumph at the WM Phoenix Open. Among his other notable achievements, he represented his country at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Paris, and won the international team event, the World Cup of Golf, alongside Thomas Pieters in 2018.
Thomas Detry became a Rolex Testimonee in 2017.
