Jenson Button, a British racing driver, achieved global recognition by winning the 2009 FIA Formula 1® Drivers’ World Championship.
Since retiring from Formula 1®, he has remained closely involved in motor sport, turning his hand to endurance racing.
Achieving success at the highest level
Jenson Button’s journey in motor sport began when he discovered karting, and he soon progressed through the junior racing categories, securing a seat in Formula 1® by 2000 with the Williams team.
Over the years, Button developed a reputation for his adaptability and resilience, culminating in his championship-winning campaign with Brawn GP. His career also includes a successful stint with McLaren, where he continued to compete at the highest level. Button stands as one of motor sport’s most charismatic and accomplished drivers, his career a testament to perseverance, adaptability and sheer racing talent.
Following his retirement from Formula 1®, Button applied his skills to endurance and classic races. Having competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA on several occasions, in 2024 he competed in his first full season of the World Endurance Championship for Hertz Team Jota. The move presented him with a unique challenge given that the importance of car speed and reliability, along with driver and team stamina, are magnified during extremely challenging races. The combination of concentration, mental strength and skill required in endurance racing is without equal.
As someone passionate about classic cars, Button regularly participates in the Goodwood Revival, one of the world’s most popular historic motor race meetings and the largest. It is the only event of its kind to be staged entirely in the spirit of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
