Known for her innovative repertoire, Grimaud has established herself as one of the leading pianists of her generation.
Musical mastery and conservation
Born in France, Grimaud began her piano studies at a young age, displaying exceptional talent and dedication.
She was accepted into the Conservatoire de Paris at just 13 years old, where she honed her skills under the guidance of renowned teachers. A few years later, in 1987, Daniel Barenboim invited Grimaud to perform with the Orchestre de Paris. This was the beginning of Grimaud’s illustrious career. Her performances in all renowned venues showcased her unique style and interpretive depth.
She has been an exclusive Deutsche Grammophon recording artist since 2002, earning numerous accolades including the Echo Klassik Award, Diapason d’or, and the Cannes Classical Recording of the Year. Her notable recordings include works by Mozart, Beethoven, Bartók, Chopin, Brahms, Schumann and Silvestrov, among others. She has also collaborated with leading conductors worldwide.
Beyond her musical achievements, Grimaud is also known for her passion for conservation. She founded the Wolf Conservation Center in New York, demonstrating her commitment to wildlife preservation and education.
