Brazilian Robert Scheidt is one of the most accomplished sailors in the sport’s history.

He began his sailing career in the Laser class, quickly establishing himself as a formidable competitor. He won his first gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, followed by another gold in 2004 in Athens, and silver medals at Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008.

Transitioning to the Star class, Scheidt continued to excel, securing a silver medal at the London 2012 Games.

His honour roll includes multiple World Championship titles in both the Laser and Star classes, showcasing his versatility and adaptability. Scheidt’s dedication to the sport and his ability to perform at the highest level across different classes have secured his status as a sailing icon. He regularly brings his trimming abilities into play during the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the Rolex Swan Cup and the 52 SUPER SERIES.

He was named Rolex World Sailor of the Year in 2001 and 2004 and became a Rolex Testimonee in 2009.
