Explorer II

A guide by day and by night

Please choose another model

Made for the ends of the Earth

24-hour time reading. A date window. A contrasting and luminescent display. Combining reliability, robustness, precision and optimal legibility in the most extreme conditions, the Oyster Perpetual Explorer II brings together decisive advantages to accompany those who explore the ends of the Earth.

Explorer II

24-hour hand and graduated bezel
An essential display

The Explorer II features an additional broad, orange hand that completes one full rotation of the dial every 24 hours. It offers an alternative way of reading time, essential in certain situations.

Chromalight display
The power of the blue glow

Exclusive to Rolex, the Chromalight display on the Explorer II’s black or white dial provides optimal legibility, no matter the light conditions.

Cyclops lens
An optimized date display

The Explorer II displays the date in a window at 3 o’clock, magnified by the Cyclops lens – an essential piece of information for lengthy exploration missions.

Oyster case
Guardian of waterproofness

The Explorer II’s Oyster case is completely waterproof and dustproof. Thanks to its larger size, it allows for a wider dial opening, thus contributing to the watch’s excellent legibility.

Oystersteel
Durability and refinement

The Explorer II is crafted in Oystersteel, an exclusive alloy that retains its shine even when the watch is put to extreme use.

Oyster bracelet
Iconic and robust

Developed in the late 1930s, the Oyster bracelet remains the most universal within the Oyster Perpetual collection.

Calibre 3285

Calibre 3285
Performance in movement

Entirely developed and manufactured in-house, the Explorer II’s calibre 3285 incorporates Rolex’s latest innovations.
