Her journey has been fuelled by tireless dedication and a fearless approach to the challenges presented, culminating in her winning a maiden Grand Slam® title at the US Open in 2023 and adding a second at Roland-Garros 21 months later. The making of a tennis sensation
Born in 2004, Coco Gauff’s tennis journey began at age seven in Delray Beach, Florida, where she quickly revealed her prodigious talent.
Her breakthrough came in 2019, aged just 15, with a stunning victory over former World No. 1 Venus Williams at The Championships, Wimbledon, that captured the world’s attention. In 2022 she reached the singles final at Roland-Garros. Her triumph at the US Open the following year confirmed her status as one of the world’s leading players, underscoring an unflinching dedication to her discipline. Playing her second final on the Parisian clay in June 2025, Gauff came away victorious to claim the biggest title of her career to date on that surface. Her game is characterized by a powerful serve, agility and remarkable composure under pressure, all of which have set her apart as a formidable presence on the court and brought multiple titles on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour.
