Building a legacy
Qinwen Zheng began playing tennis at age seven, bolstered by the unstinting support of her parents.
Her talent was soon evident and she quickly moved through the junior ranks. By 2018, aged just 16, she turned professional, making an immediate impact with her aggressive play and strategic nous. Her breakout moment came in 2020 when she claimed her first International Tennis Federation (ITF) title in Istanbul, showcasing her potential on the international stage.
In 2021, Zheng continued her rise up the ranks, securing multiple titles on the International Tennis Federation circuit and making her Grand Slam® debut at the US Open. The following year, she joined the Rolex family as a Testimonee.
Zheng enjoyed an outstanding season in 2024, reaching her first Grand Slam® singles final, at the Australian Open, to enter the world’s top 10 for the first time. She built on this to put together the most successful season of her career, including winning singles gold at the Paris Olympic Games in August. Her journey has been marked by resilience and a steadfast focus on her goals, making her a beacon of inspiration for young tennis players. She also qualified for her maiden WTA Finals, the season-ending showpiece contested by the top eight players in the world.
