A standout debut campaign

After qualifying for the 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals, Jódar turned professional at age 19. He made his Grand Slam® debut at the Australian Open in January of the following year and captured his maiden ATP Tour title at the ATP 250 event in Marrakech in early April. He followed that up with a semi-final run at the Barcelona Open, earned quarter-final berths at the Madrid and Italian Opens as well as at Roland-Garros and reached the final of the Washington Open. By August 2026, he had risen to a career-high No. 11 in the world rankings, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young players on tour.

Raised on Spanish clay

Born in Madrid in 2006, Jódar picked up a racket at the age of four and started playing at Club de Tenis Chamartín where he began developing the game that would take him from the Spanish junior circuit to the international stage.

After winning the US Open boys’ singles title in 2024, Jódar took an unusual route for a Spanish prospect, playing college tennis at the University of Virginia, where he was named Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Rookie of the Year. In 2025, he won three titles on the second-tier ATP Challenger Tour and compiled a 41-13 record.

Coached throughout his career by his father Rafael Jódar Snr, he represents a new chapter in Spanish tennis and a story that is only beginning.

Rafael Jódar became a Rolex Testimonee in 2026.
